Biography
In contemporary deeds, the wife of James Brampton is consistently identified only as "Joan." A later Visitation pedigree states only that James married Alice Arden, daughter of Nicholas. As it's likely the deeds were correct, it's unclear whether the pedigree is in error and/or if James may have had more than one wife.
