CENSUS INFORMATION: In the 1875 Nevada State Census: " Argall 8 F White born New Jersey. Both parents born outside US, Head of Household: S Argall, living in Storey County". In the 1880 US Census, she is listed as Amelia J ARGALL, aged 13 and born in New Jersey. She is living with her parents, 3 brothers and a sister in Mammoth, Mono, California. (Supervisors District 4, Enumeration District 50, Page 12). In the 1900 US Census, she is listed as Amelia Bishop, aged 34 and born in April 1866 in New Jersey. She is living with her husband and son in Ninth Avenue, Helena Ward 7, Lewis and Clarke county, Montana. She has been married for 15 years, and has had one child who is living. The BUTTE DAILY MINER Newspaper of 14 April 1885 gives a description of the marriage of Mr Samuel Bishop and Miss Amelia Argall: "Last night at 8 o'clock a very large number of guests congregated at the hospitable home of Mr SAmuel Argall, foreman of the Neptune Mine, in witness of a happy occasion. Mr Samuel Bishop and Miss Amelia J Argall, passed from death into life through the medium of marriage. The ceremonies were very solemn, impressive and exquisitely performed by Rev. J B Whitford. Brilliant socialities and hospital;ities were kindled, new and pleasant connections created, delightful associations formed, the room sounded and resounded with the deep and majestic cadences of friendship, and everything looked settled and golden under the magic ...llen of the conumbial sun. The vow of love bent its graceful arch and a more mirthful, magnanamous and geberous group of friends never met together. A sumptuous repast was furnished in which all paricipated with excellent grace. And after the presentations of a number of valuable gifts, short, terse congratulation speeches were delivered full of humour, and spakling with wit like mountainous streams, and various songs and melodies rent the social sky. The bride is well known in this city. The serene and sunny grace, the marvellous flexibility amd music of her voice, her graceful actions, her natural display fof friendship, and her fertile mind will make her a luminous star in the firmament of society. May the orange blossoms of the marriage feast never lose their fragrance, but be as pure and fadeless as the unwithering am.....ant.. May the life of this happy couple be a glorious unit, a grand symmetric whole, and their house be as full of peace and love as the rose is of color and the sandlewood of perfume. The following are some of the gifts presented:- A handsome table set of silverware, and also toilet set, hung up in an imposing monument of architectural beauty, given by the men that work in the Neptune MIne; a set of crystal-ware, from a friend who declines to have his name mentioned before the public, two silver-plated pickle dishes and sppons from Mr and Mrs Waters and Mr and Mrs Parrett; two rocking chairs, one from Mr Thomas and the other from Mr Hoar: a solid-silver buttoner from Mr Bishton; a castor and pair iof gilded vases from Mr and Mrs Argall: an ensyclopedia of poetry from Mr and Mrs Brotherton; an elegant album from Mr and Mrs Harris; a fan and pair of gloves from Mr Darion, and a beatifully-constructed pin-cushion from Miss Eda Campbell."
