On 31 March 1901 the Armstrong family lived in Georges Street, Armagh Town, County Armagh. [2] James Armstrong (28) General Labourer with wife Margret Armstrong (29) and children Samuel J Armstrong (8), Marthue Armstrong (5), Maggie Armstrong (4) & George Armstrong, all Church of Ireland.

In 1906 the Armstrong family lived in Keady where daughter Violet was born.

On 2 April 1911 the Armstrong family lived in Allistragh, Grange, County Armagh. [3] James Armstrong (38) Farm Labourer with wife Margaret Armstrong (36) and children, Samuel James Armstrong (17) Farm Labourer, Martha Armstrong (15) Linen Weaver, Eilwen Armstrong (12), George Armstrong (11), William John Armstrong (7), Violet Armstrong (5) & Barbara Armstrong (3), all Church of Ireland.
