Biography

Delancy Marion Arner was born in June 1848 in Clarion County, Pennsylvania to Samuel Arner and Margaret Nulph. Both of his parents were born in Pennsylvania as well. His birth date was taken from the 1900 Census.

In the 1850 census Delancy was one year old and with his parents in Toby, Clarion, Pennsylvania, United States.^[1]

In the 1860 census Delancy (age 10) was in Reimersburg Borough, Clarion, Pennsylvania, United States.^[2]

In the 1870 census Delancy (age 21) was the head of household in Madison Township, Clarion, Pennsylvania, United States.^[3]

In the 1880 census Delancey (age 32), Farmer, was the married head of household in Madison Township, Clarion, Pennsylvania, United States.^[4]

In the 1900 census Delancey (age 52) was the married head of household in Madison Township, Clarion, Pennsylvania, United States.^[5] He was also a coal miner, in addition to farming.

Research Notes

• 1850 Census - unable to find Delancy on family search - ancestry shows him listed as Pelancy.

• Exact birth date is unknown. June 1848 is found on the 1900 census and his headstone lists 1848 as well. HIs death certificate lists June 21,1850 - the year is not probable, 1848 fits the other documentation.

• 1910 Census - have yet to locate. Patience Arner shows as divorced, and Delancy is not listed with her. His death certificate in 1913 shows that he his married.
