In the 1930 census, John and his family are residing in George's Branch. His age at this census is given as 42, and he is residing with his wife Ellen (41), and their children Woodrow (16), Malinda (15), Hargis (13), Edward (9), Merica (sic) (7), Walter (5), and Martha (0).
