Biography

Marie Arsenault was born on 20 Dec 1835 and baptized on 5 Mar 1836 in Grande-Digue, New Brunswick, the daughter of Pierre Arsenault and Marguerite McGraw.[1][2]

Marie married Thomas Poirier on 25 Feb 1867 in Bouctouche.[3][4] He was from the parish of Dundas and she was from the parish of Wellington. Witnesses were Hermengilde Arsenault and Marie LeBlanc. A dispensation was granted for 4 degrees of affinity.

In the 1871 census Marie (age 35) lived in Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick.[5] She lived with her husband Thomas, stepchildren Luce, Francois, and Cenina, daughters Marguerite and Chaterine, and Marguerite Poirier (Thomas's stepmother?).

In the 1881 census Marie (age 45) lived in Moncton, Westmorland, New Brunswick.[6]

In the 1901 census Marie (age 65) was the wife of Thomas Poirier in Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick.[7] Her date of birth was given as 18 Dec 1835.

In the 1911 census Mary (age 75) was the mother of Emile Porier in Dundas Parish, Kent, New Brunswick.[8]

She died in 1917 and was buried in Notre Dame de Kent Roman Catholic Cemetery.[9]
