Earl was born in Oklahoma. According to his death certificate he died of TB, but according to the children, he had black lung from working in the coal mines.

Earl Ary, 39; died at his home at 1025 North First Street his morning following a short illness. Funeral services, as yet incomplete will be announced later by the Humphrey funeral home. Mr. Ary was born on September 27,1902, at Wilburton. He has lived in McAlester for 18 years. Survivors include his widow; three daughters Olline, Betty Lou, and Christine; three sons, Samuel and Arthur (should be Athrum); three sisters, Mrs Pearl Baker and Mrs. Lou Baker both of Wilburton, and Mrs. Della Bradford of Bisbee, Ariz. and three brothers, Jesse Ary and Dan Ary both of Wilburton, and Bud Ary of Colorado.
