Biography

Mary was born in 1829 and baptised 27 Sep 1829 in Blackrod, the daughter of William Atherton and Elizabeth Greenhalgh. ^[1] She died in 1873 age 43. ^[2]

Mary married Samuel Haslam in Wigan in 1849. ^[3] Samuel and Mary had at Least 9 children, only one of whom, Daniel Haslam, survived into adulthood.

• 1841 in Wigan age 10 with parents.^[4]
• 1851 in Hindley age 21, with husband. ^[5]
• 1861 in Hindley age 29 with husband and young sister, Elizabeth. ^[6]
• 1871 in Hindley age 41 with husband and son. ^[7]

Research Notes

For some reason Samuel Haslam is on Wikitree married to Mary Price on the same date as Mary Atherton (possibly from a mis-interpretation of the 1871 census entry which gives Ellen Price as mother of Samuel Haslam).
