Levi Atkin was born in Rutland, England.
Levi was born in 1840. He is the son of William Atkin and Elizabeth Wann. [1] He was christened on 17 May 1840 at Empingham, Rutland.[2]
Research Note
Unsourced information on Ancestry says "Levi left Liverpool in 1857 on board the ship, Tuscarora with his sister and 547 other passengers. Neither he nor his sister were baptized Mormons at this time. Levi became enamored with the sea while on the journey to America. After sending Sophia to Philadelphia, he went to New York, finding a job as a cabin boy, and was never heard from again." [3] Further research is needed to prove this.
