Jane Atkinson is a part of US Black heritage.

Jane was born before 1862. She was enslaved by James C Atkinson and given to his wife Rebecca (Hart) Atkinson upon his death, according to his will dated 25 June 1862. Jane was listed as a "girl" so was most likely under 21 in 1862. The will also stated that her "increase" would also belong to Rebecca.
