Biography

Sarah Jane August was the daughter of George Hornby August and Lucy Mary Clark. [1]

She married in 1878 to William Henry Mexted [2] a carter of Petone and had 8 children during her marriage.

William passed away in 1903 and was buried at Johnsonville, in St John's Anglican churchyard.

Sarah remained in Wellington for a time and then moved north to settle at Otorohanga where she passed away in 1932. [3]

She was 71 and was buried at Otorohanga cemetery in the Waikato on June 17*. SECTION OBLIII PLOT 164 BLK 1.
