Joseph lived 1897-1965. He was a poet and author. His most famous work was "The Unconquerables" (1943), directed towards the German people during WW II. To quote from his Wikipedia biography, he was appointed the first "Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress from 1937 and 1941". His parents were Louis and Martha (Asyueck) Auslander.
Joseph was married in 1930 to Svanhild Kreutz, who died after their daughter, Svanhild Frances Martha, was born. In 1932 he married Audrey Wurdemann. Together, they had two children: Louis and Mary.
