A. J. AUSTEN:
The death occurred at the residence of his daughter Mrs. E. Richardson of South Grafton, yesterday, of Arthur John Austen (86) who celebrated his birthday on Monday last. Mr. Austen, whose wife predeceased him many years ago, was a pioneer of the Clarence district. In his younger days, he was employed at Ramornie at the meatworks conducted by Tindal and Son. He is survived by a family of one son and four daughters. The son is Mr. George Austen, Kogarah, and the daughter's Mesdames Eric Richardson, South Grafton, P. C. Sanders, Grafton, Harry Austen, Eatonsville, and R. Gardner, Grafton. The funeral will take place this afternoon from St. Matthew's Church of England, South Grafton where Rev. R. C. Hancock will officiate. H. H. Sanders Ptv. Ltd. has charge of the funeral arrangements.
