Tyrone Daily Herald Tyrone, Pennsylvania - July 9 1935
William W. Austin, a resident of Tyrone for over half a century, died at his home, corner Clay avenue and Ninth street, Tyrone, this morning at 4:35 o'clock following four and one-half years' illness with, complications. William West Austin was a son of Rev. James C. and Sarah Shaw Austin, natives of Ireland, and was born at Boalsburg, Centre county, on September 3, 1854. On November 25,1883, at Tyrone, he was united in marriage with Miss Lina Bleakney, who, with the following children survives: Mrs. C. C. Witherow, James B. Austin, Altoona; Robert M. Austin, Tyrone; Miss Grace E. Austin, Detroit, Michigan; Miss Marion S. Austin, Philadelphia; also six grandchildren. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church, of Tyrone. For many years he followed the trade of carpenter, retiring from active work a number of years ago. Funeral services will be held at the Fuoss and Glass funeral home, 1201 Pennsylvania avenue, Tyrone, on Friday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. Dr. Joseph A. Speer, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, followed by burial in Grandview cemetery.
