Stella Clay Avent was born on August 30, 1885 in Lafayette Spring, Lafayette, Mississippi, United States.^[1]

Stella (22) married Eugene Whitfield Sneed (24) (born on November 3, 1883 in Lafayette Springs, Lafayette, USA; son of Benjamin Richard Sneed and Mary Ann McGehee) on December 15, 1907 in Lafayette. Their son was Payne Avent Sneed (1912–2004).

Stella died in May, 1980 in Oxford, Lafayette, aged 94.^[1]
