William Avery, son of William Avery (abt.1725-abt.1765) and Mary (unknown) Avery, was born in Groton, Connecticut [1]. His birth date is not certain, probably in the late 1740s.
He married Lucy Everett [b. 1 May 1750 @ Sharon, Connecticut, daughter of Ebenezer and Lucy (Moulton) Everett] on 8 May 1770 at Sharon, Connecticut. They had 10 children, in birth order per the Avery genealogy [1]:
American Revolutionary War service: Per the Avery genealogy, William Avery enlisted from Sharon in Capt. Edward Rogers's company, Col. Gray's regiment, Wadsworth's brigade as sergeant ; was in battle of Long Island and battle of White Plains (Conn. Men in the Rev'n, 396).
William Avery was a hatter, later moved [from Sharon, Conecticut] to Duanesburg, New York.
He died at Duanesburg, Schenectady County, New York.[1] His burial location, or otherwise final disposition of his remains, is unknown [2].
