Biography

Lydia Avery, born 28 Dec 1757 at Goshen, Connecticut, was the third child of Mehitabel (Buell) Avery (abt.1735-abt.1794) and John Avery IV (1731-1814).

Lydia Avery married first, in 1780, to Abner Johnson, who was the father of her children.

Lydia (Avery Johnson married second, in 1800, Nathan Jennings [son of Robert Jennings of Hampton.

Lydia (Avery) (Johnson) Jennings died 8 Mar 1809. Her grave is in North Cemetery, Hampton, Windham County, Connecticut, USA ^[1].

NOTES: Lydia AVERY was daughter of John AVERY and Mehitable BUELL, born on 29 Dec 1757 in Goshen, New London, CT (NOT 20 Mar 1757, Windham, CT, that's for a different Lydia!).

Lydia AVERY, married first to Abner JOHNSON (son of Seth JOHNSON and Hannah EATON, NOT Abner Johnson and Abigail Durand or Anne Delano!).

Widowed Lydia AVERY Johnson then married Nathan JENNINGS (may be mistaken as Ginnings in some records), his first wife died in 1801.

NOTE: This Lydia Avery is NOT to be mistaken as Lydia Avery who married JONATHAN LADD in 1799 in Stafford, CT.
