Biography

Frederick Avery was a son of Sylvia (Eddy) Avery (1738-) and Jacob Avery (1721-). He probably was born about 1763 to 1765 at Groton, Connecticut

Frederick Avery served as a drummer in August 1779 during the American Revolutionary War [1].

He married Elizabeth Stoddard, daughter of Mortimer & Dorothy (Parke) Stoddard. They had 4 children:

  1. Alanson Avery (1791-1880) [2]; married Nancy Eglin
  2. Solomon Avery (1792 - 1851) [3]
  3. Frederick Avery (abt 1797-1878) [4]; married Sarah Benedict
  4. Dolly Avery [5]

This family resided in Groton, Connecticut, at the time of the 1899 U.S. census [6]. They moved to North Broadalbin, New York, about 1802.

Frederick Avery died probably about 1804 at Broadalbin, New York.
