That information was not entirely accurate and has since been corrected by a distant cousin we met on the Internet named William Ayres from Tafton, PA. If this address we have for you is correct, we'll send you some of the updated information we have on the Ayres and Clark sides of the family

Robert Ayars and (we believe) his wife Katharin Taylor were the first in the family to settle in North America, mid to late 1600's, first in Rhode Island and then in Shiloh, New Jersey. Katharin Taylor Ayars died, Robert Ayars married Esther Bowen. Cousin William is an amateur genealogist and has collected information on many Ayres descendants, but the primary records of the Ayres family appear to be two references, both of which are available, free, on Google Free eBooks: "Robert Ayars and his Descendants" and "The History of the Treman, Tremaine, Truman Family in America; with the related families of Mack, Dey, Board, and Ayers; Volume II". The first was compiled in the late 1890's and early 1900's and published in 1918 and lists all the descendants of Robert Ayres known at the time. The second was published in the 1890's. Some years ago, Bill and Joanne attended an Ayars family reunion in Shiloh, NJ and at that time it was estimated there were about 2 million descendants of Robert Ayars and his two wives, living mostly in The U.S., Canada and Australia. You and Sue are descendants of Robert Ayars and Katharin Taylor by two lines: First, Robert, Isaac, Caleb, Joseph, James, James, Jonathan B., Catherine, Catherine Kelley, and second, Robert, Isaac, Caleb, Jonathan, Caleb, Esther Davis Ayres, Jonathan B. (again).
