Jane was born in Ireland[1] or Scotland[2] about 1807 [3][2] or 1809[1]. (See Research Notes)
By 1880 she (now Jane Lampton, widowed a second time) is keeping house for son George, at Macomb Street, Mt. Clemens, Macomb County, Michigan[1], and then apparently moved to son James's farm at Brady (by 1900 son George also has a farm nextdoor to James in Brady Township.)
She died at Brady on 1st March 1890[2].
Mt. Clemens is on the outskirts of Detroit about 70 miles from Brady where her son James has his farm. We believe she moved to live with James later.
Believed to be buried 'just inside the gate' of Griffus Cemetery, Brady. Searched FindAGrave and BillionGraves Nov 2021 but nothing yet. Note that there are two 'Griffus' Cemeteries here - one specifically for Oakley (a village in a corner of Brady Township) and another for the rest of the Township.
The death record[2](see second page) indicates Scotland as the birthplace, quite valid as there was a general migration from Scotland to Ireland at that time.
It is plausible that she followed a family migration trail from Ireland to Canada, taking with her some young members of the Murray and/or Bailey families.
So we find that Scotland is also indicated as the birthplace of a Jane Murray, widow aged 55 in the 1861 census taken on January 22nd in York, Ontario, later part of Toronto, in enumeration district 4 of the township of King - page 11. Unable to read or write, she is staying with Canadian-born farmer Joseph Murray (23), and his two (supposed) daughters Isabella (17) and Margaret (18). Image at the - Public Archives of Canada. This needs further investigation.
We also see a matching Jane Murray in 1871 Canada census, still in King Township. (Transcript accessed Feb 2022 at FindMyPast.
