Margerie Bain was christened October 18, 1719, in Kingston, Ulster county, New York, a daughter of Hugh Bain and Elizabeth Schot.

Marjory married Petrus (aka Pieter) Knickerbocker, son of Lourens Knickerbocker and Maryke Dyckman.

Petrus Knickerbocker, who was born in 1717, died in 1783, in Gallatinville, Columbia County, New York and was buried in the cemetery of the Gallatin Reformed Church. Margerie "Marjory" (Bain) Knickerbocker died February 24, 1791, at 71 years of age, and was buried with her husband. There are photographs of their headstones on their Find A Grave memorials.[2]

Researcher's Notes

DAR records for "Petrus Knickerbocker" give his wife's name as "Margerie Bain"

Margerie's husband was a signer of a petition repudiating English government and signed the Dutchess county Association Test, in 1775. [3] For his Patriotic Service, he is honored by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as Ancestor #: A066392. (See notes)

Application for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of the sons of Margerie and Petrus: John P. Knickerbocker, who married Anna Maria Kaus; and Hugh Knickerbocker, who married Rachel Scrham. According to her husband's Find A Grave record, other children are: Lawrenz, Marike, Phillip, Lawrence, Elizabeth, Petrus, Benjamin, James, and Margaret "Margery" Rea
