David was born in 1833.

David Bain married Janet Miller in the parish of Wick, Caithness on 5 December 1862.^[1]

David died in the district of Wick, Caithness in 1880, aged 47. His mother's maiden surname was given as "Coghill"^[2]

He was buried in Thrumster Cemetary 3 miles from Wick. Was the owner of Herring Drifter employing crews and was a fisherman ^[3]
