Ivan's father was William Henry Baisley and his mother Martha Johanna Bruere

The date 5th September 1936 was the date Margaret and Ivan signed their ante-nuptial contract. It is assumed the marriage took place very shortly afterwards. Margaret signed a death notice bore her husband two years after he died in Italy during the Second World War. Prior to the war he had been a farmer. They had had no children. At the time she signed the death notice she was living at their farm Kei Slopes in Komgha, Eastern Cape.
