BAKER -BUCK
At the Baptist Church, Dungog, on Monday, 10th January, Miss Edna Jean Buck, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Buck, of Lord Street, was united in holy matrimony to Hedley Oxley Baker, of the A.I.F., and youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. H J. Baker, Lord Stret. The Rev. F. H. Varnes officiated. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, who later gave her away. She wore a tailored oyster grey frock with brown accessories and shoulder spray of Talisman roses and was assisted by Mrs. Alec Buck (sister-in-law of the bride). During the signing of the register Mrs. E. O. Baker (sister-in-law of the bridegroom) very capably rendered the solo "I'll Walk Beside You." Mrs. O. Dickson officiated at the organ, and the church was beautifully decor ated by friends of the bride.
Before leaving for their honey moon, which was spent at Toronto, the happy couple were entertained at the home of the bride's parents, during which many congratulatory, telegrams were read, and good wishes expressed by those present. Among the gifts received were many substantial cheques.
