I have not researched further into Dan's family line and leave it to more direct descendants to research the original Germanic form of the surname that became "Baker". His widowed mother is living with his sister, Katheryn E Oetzel, in Rochelle, Ogle, Illinois in 1930^[1]

Middle name Andrew is from his son's WWII Draft record.
