Biography

Ellen was Choctaw.

Ellen was born in 1861 in the Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory, the daughter of Baker and Sophia Baker nee Brashears. Ellen passed away in 1922 at Ninnekah, Grady, Oklahoma. She is buried at the Ninnekah Cemetery, Ninnekah, Grady County, Oklahoma.^[2]

Ellen married twice, her first husband was a man named Wilkins who died prior to her second marriage. John Calvin Gray married Ellen Toyl Baker on 28 December 1885 at Pickens, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory.^[3]
