William A. Balcom was born in Allendale Michigan and enlisted in Company G of the Michigan 21st Infantry on September 03, 1862 in Grand haven at the age of 28. Records show that he was a prisoner of war, and that he mustered out on June 08, 1865 in Washington DC. (Noted on FindaGrave with two wives)
Mr. Balcom's first wife was Bethsheba Robinson (b. 08-11-1840 d. 02-18-1840), and they had 6 children
