Dorothy was born in 1746. She is the daughter of Joseph Ball and Hannah Potter.
Jacobus in Families of Ancient New Haven; under family of Hezekiah and Dorothy (Ball) Tuttle: “Mrs. Dorothy and 4 of her children were bp at Jacob Moulthrop (NHx) (Episcopal, Trinity Church, New Haven).” She was baptized July 12, 1798.
According to Descendants of William and Elizabeth Tuttle, and Hezekiah's gravestone Dorothy (Ball) Tuttle is buried on the New Haven Green near Trinity Church. There is no record of Dorothy’s burial on the Green and her stone is not among those gravestones that were removed and placed against the walls of the Grove St. Cemetery. But the stones that were removed to the Grove St. Cemetery do not account for all the burials that took place on the Green. By the early to mid-eighteen hundreds many of the old gravestones that were found on the New Haven Green were taken and used for building materials, and in some cases they were used in bakery ovens.
