18) James Bankhead was born in Scotland. He was in America (Maryland) in 1718, but returned to Scotland. He died before 1780.

17) Hugh BANKHEAD was born in 1720 in Scotland and died in 1780 in Harford Co. Md. He married Mary Jane in Scotland.

16) James BANKHEAD was born in 1742 in Ayr, Scotland and died in March 1798. His wife Elizabeth BLACK was born in 1746 in Pickneyville, Union District, South Carolina and died December 25, 1837 Union Co., South Carolina. They are buried at Bullock Creek Presbyterian Church, York District, South Carolina. He was the principal owner of Pinckneyville, SC.

15) George BANKHEAD (b. 15 Jan 1776 in SC), married Jane GREER (b. 23 June 1786), emigrated from Union County SC to Marion County, Alabama in 1820.

12) William Brockman BANKHEAD (1874-1940) married Adelaide "Ada" Eugenia SLEDGE (1880-1902). He was a U.S. Representative and Speaker of the House, so may not have had much time for his children. His brother John Hollis Bankhead, II (July 8, 1872 – June 12, 1946) was a U.S. senator from the state of Alabama.

11) Tallulah Brockman BANKHEAD (January 31, 1902 – December 12, 1968) aborted all of her children. Her mother died about a month after Tallulah was born.
