Alabama Pvt. Co B 3 US Vol UNF Civil War[1][2]

James 'Jim' Thomas Bannister was born on November 11, 1843, in Alabama, United States.[3] He was the son of Edward Bannister and Lucy Newsom. He married Nancy Louvisa 'Lou' Cotton on March 31, 1866, in Talladega, Alabama.[4] They had at least eight children; those known are:

  • George C Bannister (1869–1929)[5]
  • Lou Ella Bannister (1872–1951)
  • Marcus F Bannister (1878–1925)
  • Margaret Olive Bannister (1880–1967)[6]
  • Minnie Ola Bannister (1881–1945)[7]
  • Clora Angeline Bannister (1886–1970)[8]
  • Ernest Gather Bannister (1888–)
  • Myrtle 'Myrtie' Bannister (1891–1977)[9]

He died on February 14, 1924, in Itasca, Texas,[10] at the age of 80, and was buried there.
