Biography

In 1920, the family lived in Anderson Street, Bunnell, Flagler County, Florida.

In 1970 when she was 84, Mattie was murdered in her kitchen by an intruder. Her social security check arrived the prior day and they thought the intruder was after that small amount of money. She lived in a two room apartment.^[1]

Her obit listed interment at Southern Memorial Park.

There was no indication the person responsible for her death was ever brought to justice. There were similar crimes in the area police were investigating.^[2]
