Frances and her husband began their married life in Owen County, Kentucky. Her Son Noah B arrived in 1896. Nannie C was born in 1902, then Everett in 1906.[3]
Frances and Andy separated, and divorced sometime between 1906 and 1910. She was employed as a housekeeper by Chester W Gregory, in Peaks Mill, Franklin, Kentucky. Frances along with her three children are listed as boarders in the Gregory residence, and her marital status is "divorced." Andy was living with his aunt Nancy in New Columbus, Owen, Kentucky. His marital status is "married" on the Federal Census of 1910.[4][5]

In June of 1918, her son, Noah registered for the World War I Draft, in Midway, Woodford County, Kentucky, and married in September of the same year.[6][7]
When Katherine, Frances' daughter, left Kentucky for Indiana, is not known. Katherine married in Indiana during 1919.
By 1940, her son Noah was in the state reformatory in Oldham Kentucky. He was released shortly thereafter as he had established himself in Indiana, and was married by 1944.[8]
Mary "Frances" Barber passed away on August 7, 1947, in Franklin, Kentucky.
She is buried in the Old Beechwood Road Cemetery, Beechwood, Owen, Kentucky.[9][10]

The birth year of Mary Frances Barber is based on the Federal Census of 1880, 1910, and the Marriage Record, all indicate her estimated year or birth as 1876. Her Record of Death is the only document that estimates her year of birth as 1878.
