Biography

William Bays Barker was born on 27 Dec 1820 in Washington, Virginia, his father, John, was 29 and his mother, Sarah, was 21. He married Lucinda C Barnhardt on June 11, 1846, in Scott, Virginia. They had nine children in 19 years. He died on February 14, 1899, in his hometown, having lived a long life of 78 years, and was buried in ?

Married Lucinia Barnhart June 11, 1846. 1860 Census: Wm B Barker, in Western District, Washington County, Virginia; wife listed as Lucinda. Virginia, Marriages, 1785-1940 has daughter Rebecca V. Barker marriage to Chas. William Nickels on December 27, 1870. Mother's name is Lucinda.

Problem: Barnhardt-569 may be wife; cf. Find a Grave 127105324; date of marriage matches this record, but husband listed as William Bays Barker 1820–1899; child matches this record, but includes three others. Needs further review.
