John was born in 1773. He was the son of David Barker and Eunice Sherman. He has a brother John who was born in December, 1777. We assume then that John passed away and his brother was named after him, placing his death in the gap between the births of his younger brothers Christopher and John, that is, around 1776 or 1777. He survived long enough to appear in the 1774 census.
