Biography

When Mary Polly Barnard was born on April 9, 1808, in Claiborne, Tennessee, her father, George, was 22, and her mother, Lucretia, was 26. She married Pleasant Johnson in 1832 in her hometown. They had nine children. She died on September 14, 1875, in Tazewell, Tennessee, at the age of 67, and was buried in Claiborne, Tennessee.
