Odelle (Barnes) Morgan was a Virginian from Accomack County

Odelle was born in 1922. She was the daughter of Carson Hayes Barnes and Jewel Brown. She married William Victor Maloy in 1940. SShe divorced William in 1962. She married Glenn Morgan in 1963. She divorced Glenn. She passed away in 2015.

Odelle was listed with her parents in the census of 1940 at Metompkin District, Accomack Co, VA. HH#489 was headed by Carson Barnes, a 46 year old teacher. Listed with him were Jewell Barnes, a 41 year old wife; Odelle Barnes, an 18 year old daughter; and Carson Barnes Jr., a 9 year old son.^[3]

As of 15 August 1940,her married name was Maloy.^[4]

She married William Victor Maloy on 15 August 1940 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD.^[4]

Odelle Barnes died on 23 May 2015 at James City Co, VA, at age 93. Obituary - Odelle Barnes Morgan, daughter of the late Carson and Jewell Barnes of Bloxom, Virginia, departed this life on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Dominion Village in Williamsburg, Virginia. She was 93 years of age. Mrs. Morgan grew up on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, and had been a resident of Williamsburg since 1969. She was employed by Howard Johnson's in Williamsburg for 23 years, receiving several awards for her service. Mrs. Morgan was a remarkable daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She leaves behind many who loved her, including her son, Vic Maloy and his wife Susan; her daughter, Linda Seibert and her husband Skip; her brother, Carson Barnes and his wife Polly; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Heather, Chris, and Kristin; great-grandchildren, Maria, Annalisa, Chad, Summer, Brandon, Jared, Gracyn, Annabel, and Emeline; nieces, Jane and Elaine; and dear friend, Danny McReynolds. Her good friend, Clarence Bassett, preceded her in death. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home, Parksley, Virginia, followed by a service of committal at the Parksley Cemetery. Officiating will be Dr. W. Victor Maloy. There will be a visitation at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the W. Victor Maloy Pastoral Education Scholarship Fund. She made better the lives of all who knew her. We will miss her forever. Published in Virginia Gazette on May 28, 2015.^[1][2]
