This tree obviously has confused sisters... This tree is unsourced and also says he married Hannah Barney, and the children attached are surname Smith. Seems because Mary Barney also married William Smith 28 JUN 1720 Mastic, Suffolk, New York, 17 MAR 1799 Long Island City, Queens, New York ^[1]

Research Notes

To add to the confusion, the VR says it was Mary Barnes who married Jacob Elliot on 22 Sep 1742, not Mary Barney.^[2]
