DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Isabella by comparing test results with other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Isabella:
Death* 4 December 1871 Isabella Barrows died on 4 December 1871 at Dunolly, Victoria, Australia, at age 36
Burial* 5 December 1871 She was buried on 5 December 1871 at Cemetery, Dunolly, Victoria, Australia.
Lesley Whitehead's emails:—
It seems Isabella is buried at Dunolly, in the Dunolly Old Pioneer Cemetery. (11/12/2011)
I found Isabella's grave today but all that is left is a stick out of the ground. It looks like it might have had a wooden cross or marker on the grave. (12/12/2011)
I found some people with the original cemetery records and we looked them up. She actually died on Dec 4, 1871 and was buried on Dec 5, 1871. She is in the Dunolly Cemetery, not the Dunolly Old Pioneer Cemetery, as the records online say.

Lesley Whitehead, "Lesley Whitehead re:Isabella Barrows," e-mail message from e-mail address (?) to Richard Barrows, Dec 2011, Isabella was the first wife of my great, great grandfather Richard Newton. Whilst I am not a blood line to Isabella, I do have a little info. My great great grandmother was Harriet Raim Corney, Richard's second wife. I have acquired a copy of their marriage certificate and it specifies the date of his first wife's death, though not her name, so I have been searching to learn this much.
