Emily "Marian" Barter was born on September 20, 1900, in St Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada, her father, Herbert, was 29, and her mother, Rebecca, was 22. She married Charles Beal Burns on September 26, 1927,[1] in her hometown. They had five children during their marriage. She died in 1993 at the age of 93, and was buried in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
