Biography
Luke Barter was baptised on 10 Feb 1719 at All Saints in Moreleigh, Devon, England. His parents were Luke Barter and Alice.[1]
His sisters were both named Grace, presumably because the first died in childhood. They were baptised at All Saints in Moreleigh on 4 Oct 1721 and 26 May 1735.[2]
He married a woman named Mary, and all but one of their children were baptised in Loddiswell, Devon:

Luke was buried in 1785, the same year as his second son named Luke. One was buried on 23 Feb 1785 and the other on 27 Dec 1785 in Kingsbridge. [14] His wife Mary was also buried in Kingsbridge, Devon on 20 Oct 1785.[15]
