James Basil Bartlett was born on April 6, 1942, the son of Floyd Earl Bartlett and Mary Lavina Smart Bartlett.
He was from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, United States.
During the Vietnam War, Bartlett served with HHC, 2ND BN, 18TH INFANTRY, 1ST INF DIV, USARV. He held the rank of Sergeant. James began his tour of duty on September 15, 1965.
He was killed in action on July 2, 1966 during the Vietnam War during the Battle of Srok Dong, in Binh Long, South Vietnam.
