Biography

James was born about 1830. He passed away in 1909.

James was the son of James Twiggs Barton and Jane Burma Thomas. He married Lillie in 1881. Living children in 1900: James Thomas Barton; Eugene V. Barton; Sadie L. Barton Prather; Sallie Barton; Marcellus Foster Barton.

James was a veteran of the Civil War, serving the Confederacy.
