Biography

Maciej was born about 1761.

In 1786 he married Jadwiga Uszycka.^[1]

According to 1791 population census in Siemianice catholic parish Maciej was 30 years old at the time. He lived in house number 8 in the village of Raków, together with his wife Jadwiga (26 years old). No other occupants of the house (e.g. children) are listed in the census.^[2]

In 1796 their son Jakub Bartosik was born (baptized).^[3]

Siemianice parish records indicate they had another son Ignacy Bartosik who passed away as a child in 1799.^[4]

Research note

It is possible that Jadwiga Uszycka was his second wife, as in 1778 Andrzej (Andreas) Bartosik, son of Maciej Bartosik and Elżbieta Pacholonka was baptized. It is unlikely, however, as the couple married in 1764.
