Rev Aaron Bascom was born in Warren, Massachusetts, December 1, 1746,[1]the son of Samuel Bascom and Mary (Warner) Bascom. He married Theodosia Ashley October 23, 1770 [2] and they had at least seven children. After his wife died in 1791 he married Martha Raynolds on February 1, 1792, and they had a son, Raynolds Bascom.
Rev Bascom graduated in 1768 from Harvard College and was the first pastor of Congregational Church of Chester, Massachusetts, from 1769 to 1814 ,

"In Memory of Rev. Aaron Bascom. Who died in the Lord May 19th A.D. 1814 in the 68th year of his age, & 45th of his ministry. He was faithfull in life. And Joyfull in death. -- The sweet remembrance of the just Shall flourish when they sleep in dust." [3]
