Biography
Son of Elbert and Ruth Poindexter Basham Siblings: Leona Delores and Dave Basham
Raised in Marion and was a former resident of Patriot, IN. He and his family moved to Jefferson County community in the 1940's. WWII veteran, U.S. Army, corporal with the 772nd Tank Destroyer Battalion, participating in the campaigns to liberate Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. Helped to build several buildings at the Hanover College. Retired from Williamson Heater and owned and operated Basham General Repair in Madison. Married Kathleen Norris Nov. 8, 1946. Children from this marriage: John and Alan Member of the Bible Baptist Temple in Lancaster, IN. Member of the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association and the National Rifle Association.
