Thomas Bates of Ovington,[1] Hall in c. 1525-37.[2]
According to Craster (1909), his parentage is uncertain, but conjectures that he may have been the son of James Bates of Bedlington and Cecily. The said couple married sometime before 20 July 1463.[2]

Thomas was married to Jane or Joan Creswell.[1] She was the d. & h. of:[3]
