Sir Francis was born about 1714.

The ancestry of Lawrence Bathurst of Pennsylvania, 1757-1845 Description Lawrence Bathurst (ca. 1457-1549), a clothier, of Canterbury, Cranbrook and Staplehurst, Kent, England, and his wife, Godleve Chapman, had at least two sons, John and Thomas. Descendants lived in Kent, elsewhere in England, and in America. Among his descendants who immigrated to America were: Ann Bathurst (b. 1639), who immigrated to Virginia and married John Gilliam of Prince George County, Virginia; Colonel Lancelot Bathurst (b. 1646), who immigrated to Virginia, ca. 1670; Marie Bathurst (b. ca. 1656), who immigrated to Virginia and married James Skelton of Hanover County, Virginia; Sir Francis Bathurst (b. 1714), who immigrated to Georgia in 1734. His children lived in Georgeia, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina.
