Alvin Baymore, (born Boehmer) was born in 1882 in the village of Fort Jennings, Ohio, (population 164 in 1880).[1][2][3]
He graduated from Delphos High School on May 18, 1900, the only male person in a class of six students.[4] The class motto was "Vincit qui Patitur", (He who suffers conquers), and their class colors were purple and gold. Alvin held the position of class president.[5]
In 1901 Alvin was living in Lima, Ohio, and had returned to Fort Jennings to spend the Christmas holidays with his brother, George, and their father, Louis.[6]
He attended the Cincinnati College of Law,[7][8] graduating in 1904.[9]
In July 1908, Alvin took out a permit on a three-story brick building located at 58 and 60 Pike Street in Cincinnati for $3,000.[10]
Alvin and Anastasia (Cullen) Baymore were married sometime before July 1, 1911. A newspaper article on that date tells of their visit with his brother, George, in Sandusky, Ohio.[11] In 1913 he purchased two lots in the Suburban Home and Land Company's subdivision in Cincinnati for $1.[12]
By 1930 Alvin had changed the family surname to "Baymore" and he and his family were residing in Buffalo, New York, where Alvin worked at his law practice.[13]
A close look at his brother's obituary published in 1930 shows that Alvin's surname at birth was "Boehmer".[14] He legally changed his last name to Baymore during WWI.[15]
