Biography

Harold Quincy Beam was born 8 Mar 1906 in Marshall County, Kansas.[1]

In the 1910 census Harold (age 4) was the son of Jesse Beam in Walnut, Marshall, Kansas.[2]

In the 1920 census Quincy (age 14) was the son of Jess Beam in Esbon, Jewell, Kansas.[3]

In the 1925 Kansas census Quincy (age 19) was the son of Jess Beam.[4]

Harold Beam married Nina Belle Silsby on July 22, 1926.

In the 1930 census Harold (age 24) was the married head of household in Limestone, Jewell, Kansas.[5]

From The Belleville Telescope (Belleville, Kansas) Thursday, 22 Jul 1976, Pg 3[6]:

"Harold Beam's Observe 50th Anniversary -- Mr. and Mrs. Harold Beam. Esbon, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at an open house from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 18 at the Legion hall in Esbon. They were married July 22, 1926. Hosting the open house were their children and grand children. Donald and Doris Beam, Smith Center, Beth and Harold Adamson, Kansas City, Mo. Betty Fogo, Beloit and Johnny and Thelma Beam, Esbon."

Harold Quincy Beam died 11 Mar 1987 (aged 81) in Smith Center, Smith County, Kansas, and was buried in the Esbon Cemetery in Esbon, Jewell County, Kansas.[1]

Obituary - Salina Journal - Saturday, March 14, 1987 Pg 11:[7]

"Harold Beam, 81, Smith Center, died Wednesday, March 11, at the Bethesda Care Center, Smith Center. Mr. Beam was born March 8, 1906, in Marshall County. He was a farmer and a member of the Esbon Lions Club. His wife, Nina, died in 1977. Survivors Include two sons, Don of Smith Center and Harold "John" of Esbon; two daughters, Beth Adamson of Kansas City, Kan., and Betty Fogo of Beloit; a brother, Clifford of Garden Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Cecil Shackelton of Pueblo, Colo., and Jeanette Moudy of Afton, Okla.; 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Simmons Mortuary, Smith Center, the Revs. Terry McGuire and Brad Fogo officiating. Burial will be in the Esbon Cemetery. Visitation is at the mortuary."
