She had been a foster grandparent in the Jay Public Schools and a member of Piney Baptist Church.
She was a signer of the Cherokee Speaker Roll, a record of the names of the last living Cherokees who are able to speak the language with fluency.
She passed away in 2020. She is buried at Piney Cemetery in Jay, Oklahoma.
